In celebration of Gucci’s 90th anniversary, Frida Giannini, the Creative Director, has been reinterpreting some of the house classics including apparel, shoes, bags and now a special edition pair of sunglasses. The frames, which represent the luxury and expertise the house is know for, are covered in leather, come in cherry, brown, and beige and have an 18-carat gold plate on the side engraved with “G. Gucci Firenze 1921” as a tribute to the founding of the house by Guccio Gucci in Florence in 1921. The collection is available now in stores and online.

Before the madness
19 March 2011: Guuci 1852
So today was supposed to be an easy day, take a picture of the desert for my friend… And then… I got stuck in a sand pit. Yeah. Not so much fun. But hey! I’m back to wearing my sunnies again! Yay!
Every so often, I get this urge to clean and look at ALL my sunglasses. I took back the two pairs I gave to my parents to take this photo… which makes the number… 44.
And I’ve given so many away throughout the years.
theCOLLECTION includes:
- Oliver Peoples
- Dita
- Paul Smith
- Oakley
- DVB
- Versace
- Burberry
- Carerra
- Spy
- Von Zipper
- Chloe
- Ray-Ban
- Tom Ford
- Ralph Lauren
- Ralph by Ralph Lauren
- Armani Exchange
- Gucci
- D&G
- Dolce and Gabbana
- Cazal (vintage, yet to be worn)
- Ted Lapidus (vintage, yet to be worn)
The only reason I have yet to wear my vintage pieces is because they need lens replacement. *sadface*
I’ve been on a sunglasses ban since July of last year (2010) because of the Oliver Peoples summer sessions… when my collection of OP/PS went from 2 pairs to 12.
